Insi is Responsible for Drogaria Araújo's Agile Transformation

The agile transformation at Drogaria Araújo has begun! The largest pharmacy chain in Minas Gerais (and the fourth largest in the country) has chosen Insi to begin its journey with agile methods. The project will begin in the Digital department, which represents 15 squads and approximately 70 people, but the plan is to expand to the entire company later.

Why undertake agile transformation at Drogaria Araújo?

Drogaria Araújo is part of the daily lives of Minas Gerais residents, but they know that with the support of technology they can evolve, simplify their daily lives, and add even more value to their customers.

The Digital department, chosen as a pioneer for agile transformation, has grown 7x and serves 400,000 customers per month. But with this growth has come greater complexity. Agile is a solution to simplify processes, prepare teams, and bring greater robustness.

André Giffoni, Digital Director, explains: "We need to gain speed, synchronization, and autonomy among teams, while maintaining the responsibility of delivering what our customers need."

Other challenges faced include defining roles and responsibilities, prioritizing teams according to the company's strategic objectives, and maintaining the evolution of the digital business while maintaining team growth.

What does agile transformation look like in practice?

It's often said that it's essential to look at change from a different perspective... After all, change isn't necessarily a seven-headed beast, and while challenging, it can take your company much further. And that's what Drogaria Araújo has been doing. As Giffoni points out: "Change is the achievement of where you've come so far."

Araújo has been carrying out its agile transformation for three years, but now it has chosen Insi as a partner to overcome challenges and pain points and evolve even further. A great thing about this story is that we were chosen based on a recommendation from Localiza, another client of ours, where we implemented an agile transformation and became a success story. To strengthen this relationship, we welcomed the Drogaria Araújo team to our headquarters in Porto Alegre and took them to meet our clients, to better understand our way of working and how we could help them.

To cement this relationship, at the end of October, we held a kick-off in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, with the entire Digital team and many other employees to learn more about the project and the new phase the company will be experiencing. This moment was important for engaging employees, bringing the goal closer to the client, and ensuring everyone is aligned. The event also included the client's team, Janaína Sombrio and Guilherme Balbino, our CDO, Ana Carla Martins, the Insi services team that will lead the project, and leaders from Drogaria Araújo itself, including owner Modesto Araujo.

Our Head of Agility, Dian Costa, led the meeting. He explained that for a year, we will work to review the governance process and model, portfolio and project management, prioritization model, processes, and architectural structure, always striving for greater performance.

Dian emphasized: "Digital transformation is company-wide!"
