Bruning is currently one of the largest auto parts manufacturers in Latin America, providing solutions for the agricultural, road, automotive, construction and several other industries that depend on reliability, scale and technology. With more than seven decades of history, the company has grown supported by innovation, solid processes and the strength of its people.
In recent years, it has intensified its digital transformation journey to sustain this growth. The implementation of SAP in 2018 was an important milestone in this direction, and now the company advances once again with the latest version of the system, at a decisive moment driven by the Tax Reform and the continuous search for efficiency.
Why update now? The force of change and the impact of the Tax Reform
The Tax Reform was one of the main drivers of the update. The new tax requirements have put pressure on companies across all sectors, and at Bruning it was no different.
According to Mauricio Cavalli, IT Coordinator and technical manager of the project, “the Tax Reform was what pushed us to make the big change on SAP.” The legislation brought tight deadlines and concrete operational risks, such as the possibility of blocking the issuance of invoices for those who were not compliant in time.
This scenario required strategic vision and agility. As reinforced by Vanderlei Giovani Benetti, Operational Excellence and IT Manager and manager of the update project: “we had strict deadlines to meet the legislation, and this directly and very strongly influenced the project’s decisions.”
Updating before the turn of the reform was not only a technical choice, but a move to ensure continuity, competitiveness and operational security.
The partnership with Meta: purpose that connects technology and people
Choosing Meta to lead the update was a natural decision. The relationship between the companies began in 2018, during the initial implementation of SAP S/4HANA, when Bruning decided to migrate from its own system to a robust ERP solution. At that moment, what brought the two organizations closer was not just technical expertise, but the purpose behind their brands.
Reno Schmidt Junior, CEO of Bruning and project sponsor, highlights that he found in Meta “a company that has a purpose close to ours.” He reinforces that Bruning’s mission is to generate prosperity by connecting people and technology, and that Meta shares this vision by viewing technology not as an end, but as a tool for transformation. This cultural alignment strengthened a partnership built on depth, trust and long-term vision.
This synergy is reflected even in the way they work: integrated teams, collaboration without barriers and a mindset the CEO himself describes as “working without badges.” In the upgrade project, this posture was essential to accelerate decisions, reduce risks and maintain focus on what truly mattered.
Vanderlei Benetti, Operational Excellence and IT Manager, explains that Meta fully understood the urgency and challenges of the moment, helping structure a project aligned with the real need. According to Benetti, the consultancy was decisive by “understanding Bruning’s need and the context we were experiencing.”
The joint effort ensured that the planning met the challenging scenario: little time, high complexity and direct impact on the company’s operation.
The strength of people: engagement, learning and evolution
More than a system update, the project became a movement of internal mobilization. Team participation was cited by everyone as the differentiating factor that ensured the success of the journey.
Ângela Priscila Oliveira, Project Management Analyst and PMO of the project, highlights that “having a team dedicated to the project was one of the positive points we were able to clearly see.” This commitment not only made the transition smoother, but also generated maturity, integration and knowledge exchange between areas.
This movement reinforces a perception present throughout the company: technology amplifies human work, enhances capabilities and creates space for people to act more strategically.
It is exactly at this point that the purpose of Bruning and Meta meet: technology in service of human evolution, not the other way around.
Results: more efficiency, more integration and better decisions
The update to the latest version of SAP S/4HANA brought immediate gains:
-
greater operational stability;
-
improvements in integration between modules and processes;
-
more efficiency in decision-making;
-
a technological foundation prepared for upcoming tax requirements;
-
strengthening of internal structure and communication between areas.
As Benetti, Operational Excellence and IT Manager, explains, the updated SAP ensures that Bruning operates “with the full potential of the tool,” enabling safer decisions and continuous process improvement.
With the update, the company is now ready for all developments of the Tax Reform, something many organizations will still need to rush to address. In addition, the updated system enables new solutions, opens doors for future digitalization and strengthens the technological foundation for the coming years. As Benetti stated, the new version “enables us for the next years of the company’s digital transformation journey.”
A more prepared, connected and digital future
Bruning’s future vision remains firm: continue growing sustainably, keeping technology and people as inseparable pillars. Reno, CEO, summarizes this perspective by stating that the expectation is to advance “in our purpose,” working side by side with partners who share the same essence.
He sees the future as a joint journey, uniting team knowledge, the strength of internal culture and the technologies that support the business. According to him, as long as there is alignment to “generate prosperity together,” Bruning and Meta will remain connected in the same direction.
The update marks an important turning point. Bruning maintains its path of evolution, now with a solid technological foundation for the next years of digital transformation: more modern, more integrated and even more faithful to its purpose.
With modern technology, a trusted partner and engaged teams, Bruning is strengthened to face the changes in the tax landscape, increase efficiency and continue delivering value to customers, employees and the entire production chain.
